Vejer de la Frontera is a pretty town where the streets are narrow and the houses are all white.  It sits on top of a hill about 650 feet above sea level overlooking the surrounding valleys and hills.  The sea at Barbate is easily visible from many parts of the town.

There are numerous craft shops selling everything from leather goods to ceramics and many cafés, bars and restaurants.  The town has a good range of Spanish, Italian, French and Moroccan foods to suit all budgets. We have sampled many of the restaurants and we haven't been disappointed yet!

There is a long list of cities in Andalusia that are well worth seeing and all can be easily reached from Vejer:  Jerez, Cadiz, Ronda, Seville and Gibraltar. The other Pueblos Blancos (white villages) are within easy reach such as Arcos and Medina Sidonia, while the Sierra Grazalema, Coto Donaña and Alcornocales National Parks are all within a reasonable drive of Vejer. 

It is only a 10 minute drive from Vejer to the nearest beaches at El Palmar, Conil or Cape Trafalgar.  Further information on the beaches page.

The natural park at Canos de Meca is also only about 15 minutes away - perfect for walks in the woodland and sand dunes.
